‘Re-’
‘Back, back from, back to the original place’ or ‘again, anew, once more’.
Rework. Repurpose. Revisit. Reacquaint. Read. Realise. Realign. Reassess. Reap. Reapply. Redistribute. Rear. Reality. Reassign. Rebel. React. Rescind. Resolve. Reemerge. Rebirth. Reboot. Rediscover. Reach. Return. Remind. Real. Redefine. Reprint.
As an ode to our storied legacy of annual print anthologies, we are seeking writing that focuses on the ‘re-’. An acknowledgement of the past, a launching pad, a deep commitment to what came before, and a profound respect for what is to come.
We welcome work that champions the urge to move two steps back and three steps forward. Writing that sings the song of nostalgia, of growth. History and future.
Visible Ink accepts submissions in all forms of the written word.
Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, everything in-between. Art in the form of text and language. We want writing that speaks to the theme of ‘re-’; writing that works in tandem with the back and forth. There is only one rule here: write as if you are free, as if your life depends on it. Write as you breathe and breathe as you trawl through the nostalgia of the future.
We accept submissions from all Victorian TAFE and University students, no matter the level of study, or previous publication experience.
Submissions open 31 May.
Visible Ink is proud to pay writers for their contributions.
A reminder that Visible Ink is a student–run literary publication. The goal is to champion emerging editors, designers, publishers, industry professionals and of course, writers.
